Media prodigy, Souleo isn’t afraid to label himself a renaissance man. When asked to define that term he replies, “A jack of all trades and master of each and every one.” True to his word, at an age when most are having a hard time navigating the everyday and mundane, Souleo is quickly establishing himself as one of the most formidable forces in TV, radio, print and new media.
This Brown University graduate and dynamic young talent’s list of journalism credits includes Newsweek, Ebony, Black Enterprise, NY Press, XXL, Sister 2 Sister, Rolling Out magazine and more. Souleo’s list of exclusives include Dr. Donda West’s—mother of Kanye West—final interview before her untimely passing; DMC’s revelation of his obsessive compulsive disorder; R&B singer Lil’ Mo’s battle with substance abuse and more. With his track record of securing exclusives Souleo’s expertise and content has been featured on CNN’s “The Nancy Grace Show,” MTV’s “FNMTV Premieres,” The NY Post, The Chicago Sun-Times, “Access Hollywood,” “The Insider” on CBS, NPR, BET, and in the Boston Globe.
Souleo began his career as a popular DJ at the historic 95.5 WBRU as one of the hosts of Southern New England’s #1 weekly show, “The 360 Degree Black Experience in Sound,” landing interviews from a diverse and respected group of luminaries such as the father of “Soul Train” Don Cornelius and Liza Minnelli, as well as current chart-toppers like Ne-Yo and Snoop Dogg.
Souleo recently ventured into the world of new media content production with his company, Souleo Enterprises, LLC. Most recently the company has formed a partnership with the prestigious non-profit arts service organization the Harlem Arts Alliance. The initial project, a blog entitled “Harlem Arts Alliance Presents: On the ‘A’ w/Souleo” is now syndicated online and in print via several outlets including SoulTrain.com, Rolling Out and Harlem World magazine. In addition, Souleo Enterprises, LLC is developing several special projects designed to support and empower the arts and culture community.
While Souleo thoroughly enjoys covering the entertainment world it is his primary goal to utilize his media platform to inspire others with his message of spiritual, educational, political, social and financial self-empowerment. In honor of that mission, Souleo has partnered with such companies as Jimmy Jazz and Food for Life Supreme to create internship opportunities for disenfranchised community members.
With the world at his feet, Souleo is proving that with determination, passion and, of course – soul – anything is possible.
